Background
How I got
here.
I started my career in programming and automation design on luxury yachts, building control systems where reliability and clarity mattered. That work taught me how complex systems behave and how small design decisions affect real people using them.
I later moved into UX and UI design. Over the past 8+ years I've worked across nonprofits, healthcare, edtech, and fintech. Today I focus primarily on service design projects with the BC government, helping improve complex public services and digital systems.
I'm both a designer and a front-end builder. I like working close to the product and turning ideas into working interfaces. My process is simple. Design isn't about producing more screens. It's about filtering ideas. Knowing what to keep, what to cut, and what to push further.
AI and modern tools help speed up exploration, but the real work is judgment. I test ideas against real user goals, real constraints, and real systems.
The tools will keep changing. Clear thinking and practical design judgment compound over time.
